Black Girl Health Con 2023 Featured Keynotes

Ericka Hart (she/they) is an activist and a non-binary femme. A breast cancer survivor and writer, Ericka exists in the realm of leading thought around human sexual expression, health and all of its intersections with race, gender, chronic illness and disability.

Dr. Jamila Perritt is a fellowship trained, board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist and the President and CEO of Physicians for Reproductive Health. She is a community based provider who operates at the intersection of sexual health, reproductive rights and social justice. She provides a unique perspective as a Black woman, clinical provider and leader of a prominent organization focused on amplifying the voice of medical providers to advance sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice. She is a collaborator with the Black Mamas Matter Alliance and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the Society of Family Planning. She serves via Mayoral Appointment as Chair for Washington DC’s Maternal Mortality Review Committee and has previously served as Vice Chair of the ACOG Committee for Health Care for Underserved Women.

Michelle Browder is an activist and artist that has dedicated her life’s work to transforming spaces and amplifying the voice and experience of those history has intentionally forgotten. Her monument, “The Mothers of Gynecology,” highlights the forced and inhumane treatment of Anarcha, Lucy and Betsey the enslaved women used as subjects to gain advancement in treatment in the reproductive health field.

BLACK GIRL HEALTH CON

is a national conference presented by the Black Girl Health Collective, a 501(c)(3) designated non-profit that seeks to create healthy informed communities by curating spaces to educate and promote autonomy in care.

TLDR- We provide a space to learn, amplify the voice and work of community and grassroots organizations in healthcare, and to hear from prominent voices in the field.
